Sobhita Dhulipala, who was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan II as Vanathi, took the stage on Day 1 of India Today Conclave South 2023 on June 1. The actress spoke in the session titled Bright star: Many languages, many formats: Lessons from navigating a diverse terrain.

India Today Conclave South 2023 is taking place at The Leela Raviz, Kovalam. It kicked off on June 1. A plethora of renowned leaders and eminent personalities from across the fields of politics, business, cinema, and sports, among other areas, graced the platform while talking on a diverse of topics.

During her session at the conclave, the actress spoke on a wide variety of topics, including the North vs South debate, her Hollywood debut, her modeling career and many more.

During one of the segments of her session, the actress spoke about the advent rise in women-centric films in cinema. Talking about the same, she said, "There have been times in the past when there was cinema that was extraordinary in the representation of women. We have had our highs and lows depending on the environment and the cultural mood of the country. Cinema was a reflection of that and vice-versa. It is my desire to experiment that has led me into beautiful experiences."

Other than this, The Night Manager actress also talked about the much debated North-South war. The actress mentioned how war has always been prevalent since the pre-independence era. "I don't think it is a new war at all. The war has just become more visible now because of cinematic successes. But since pre-independence, there has been debate on what should be the national language. India is a country of union of states in a way. It's a country where we are all tied together," she said.
