Apple marketed the iPad as a computer replacement in 2017 and continues to deliver features supporting its notion. However, the iPad Pro is far from a computer at this stage, and iPadOS is one of the reasons why. The company introduced a Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro that can transform the tablet into a laptop-like device with a keyboard and a trackpad. Now, the company is working on a redesigned Magic Keyboard to make the OLED iPad Pro look more like a laptop.

In a new report, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman states that Apple will launch the OLED iPad Pro models in the first half of 2024. The new iPad Pro models will be accompanied by two variants of iPad Air, one of which will feature a bigger 12.9-inch display. Alongside the new iPad models, Gurman notes that Apple is working to introduce a redesigned Magic Keyboard, allowing the 'Pro' models to look more like a laptop.

Gurman specifies that the redesigned Magic Keyboard will feature a new aluminum frame. While the report did not share exact design details, the analyst claims the new design will be sturdy thanks to the aluminum frame. It remains to be seen if Apple will increase the accessory's price as it is already an expensive purchase.

It was previously rumored that the OLED iPad Pro models would feature a whopping $1,800 price tag, and coupled with the new Magic Keyboard, we might be looking at a value greater than that of the M3 Pro MacBook Pro. However, these are mere speculations at this stage, as the final word rests with Apple. The company could launch the OLED iPad Pro models at a slightly higher price tag.

Besides the redesigned Magic Keyboard, Apple is also looking to introduce the new third generation of the Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil will feature USB-C, similar to the low-end Apple Pencil that Apple released last month. The accessory will launch alongside the new OLED iPad Pro models, potentially with new features. The Apple Pencil's design could be similar to the low-cost USB-C Apple Pencil. However, concrete details are not available at this stage.

The redesigned Magic Keyboard and new Apple Pencil 3 will be available alongside the OLED iPad Pro models in March 2024. The report also highlights that Apple plans to release the iPad mini 6 and iPad 11 in the second half of 2024 alongside a "low-end and mid-tier" version of the AirPods with a USB-C port.
